    Why: The Gold Wing Road Riders Association’s (GWRRA) 39th annual Wing Ding gathering is expected to bring more than 8,000 riders of Honda Gold Wings – a.k.a. “Wingers” – and other touring motorcycles. An indoor trade show for touring motorcycle enthusiasts is open to the public. Wing Din Light Parade, Gold Wing People’s Choice Bike Show and Gold Wing Drill Team Performance.

    When: Fri. Sept. 1st – Sun. Sept. 3rd @ 5:30PM (Fri) and 9AM (Sat & Sun)
    Where: Westfest Fairgrounds
    Tokio Rd. and Old Dallas Rd., West, TX 76691
    Why: Head for the town of West, about an hour’s drive south of D-FW, for polka music and dancing, kolache eating, arts & crafts, carnival rides, washers and horseshoe tournaments, and more. The long-running Labor Day weekend festival is a salute to the area’s Czech heritage.

    What: Bedford Blues & BBQ Festival
    When: Fri. Sept. 1st – Sun. Sept. 3rd @ 6:00PM- 10:00PM (Fri) and 2:00PM – 10:00PM (Sat & Sun)

    Why: Music lovers with an appetite for tasty blues and mouth-watering barbecue will find the 2017 Bedford Blues & BBQ Festival a feast for the senses.

    What: La La Land in Concert

    Where: Meyerson Symphony Center

    Why: The critically-acclaimed film La La Land will be screened with live orchestra on stage at the Meyerson Symphony Center. La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, has won numerous awards, including 6 Academy Awards and 7 Golden Globes, and was nominated for 14 Oscars.

    What: Riverfront Jazz Festival
    When: Fri. Sept. 1st – Sun. Sept. 3rd @ 7:30PM (Fri) and 1PM (Sat & Sun)

    Why: Erykah Badu leads a host of jazz, R&B, soul, blues and neo-soul artists scheduled to perform at the new Riverfront Jazz Festival over Labor Day weekend. Presented by The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, the music fest will present more than 30 top performers on 2 main stages, plus 40+ acts on the Promising Young Artists stage.

    What: Texas Association of Magicians- Magic Shows
    When: Fri. Sept. 1st – Sun. Sept. 3rd @ 8:00PM
    Where: Embassy Suites Frisco

    Why: A fun evening as part of the Texas Association of Magicians annual convention. We feature for the first time in DFW, Christian Painter & Katalina Absolon, just off a USO tour bringing magic and mentalism to our audience. They play the Magic Castle in Hollywood and competed in the World Magic Olympics in Italy

    What: Granbury Labor Day Lake Fest
    When: Sat. Sept. 2nd – Mon. Sept 4th @ 10:00AM
    Where: Granbury Square Plaza
    201 E. Pearl St., Granbury, TX 76048
    Why: The festival will run with activities spread from the downtown Courthouse Square to the City Beach and nearby Hewlett Park. There will be Kids Games, Food, a Petting Zoo, and more. There will also be fantastic music entertainment on the city stage on the Square. The event will also feature a fishing tournament. Also on the city beach will be all the usual water activities like kayak’s and tubes etc., rent a bicycle, stand up waterboard. On Sunday night, there will be a lighted boat parade on Lake Granbury.

    What: Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series
    When: Sat. Sept. 2nd @ 12:00PM – 4:00PM
    Where: Possum Kingdom Lake
    Hell’s Gate Cove, Graford, TX 76449
    Why: The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series returns to Possum Kingdom’s infamous Hell’s Gate Cliffs for gravity-defying action from the world’s most elite cliff divers.  Sat. 9/2 – Men’s and women’s Rounds 1 & 2 (time to be determined) Sun. 9/3 – Men’s and women’s Round 3 & Finals starting at 2 p.m. Spectators should plan to arrive and view the competition by watercraft. There are several private boat rental services on the lake.

    What: Hurricane Harvey Relief Concert
    When: Sat. Sept. 2nd @ 1:30PM – 8:00PM
    Where: Club DaDa

    Why: In light of the massive damage in South Texas, the Dallas music community has come together to throw a charitable concert this Saturday at Club Dada. Funds raised will support the American Red Cross, Trusted World, and ASPCA.

    What: Gleaux Fest
    When: Sat. Sept. 2nd @ 7:00PM – 11:00PM
    Where: Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge

    Why: GloGloBags.com presents Gleaux Fest, an LED night festival. This awesome night will be packed with family fun activities and tons of lights. There will be food trucks serving up absolutely delicious cuisine, game tucks for all the gamers out there, laser tag, a must-see laser light show, bounce houses, several vendors, a rock climbing wall for all the adrenaline seekers, and our friends at 106.1 KISS FM will be in the house.

    What: Dallas DanceFest

    Why: Dance Council of North Texas presents a two-day showcase of dance companies for the 2017 edition of Dallas DanceFest. This year, 28 dance companies will perform a vareity of dance styles including ballet, modern, hip-hop, classical Indian, tap and classical Korean.  Among the performers: Contemporary Ballet Dallas, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, NobleMotion, SMU Meadows Dance Ensemble, Bruce Wood Dance Project, Uno Más, LakeCities Ballet and many more.

    What: 6th Annual Labor of Love Homebrew Festival
    When: Sun. Sept. 3rd @ 5:00PM
    Where: Deep Ellum Brewing Co. (Dallas)

    Why: The 6th annual Labor Day weekend Homebrew Festival celebrates homebrews and the teams that make them. Taste beer from many Dallas-Fort Worth homebrew teams who are competing for top honors at the Festival. The festival includes homebrew teams pouring their unique brews, live music, games, and food trucks. The festival is dog friendly. DEBC will match each one with a $15 donation to Greater Houston and South Texas relief funds.

    What: Garland Labor Day Parade/Car Show/ Kids BBQ Competition
    When: Mon. Sept. 4th @ 9:00AM -2:00PM
    Where: Historic Downtown Garland
    108 N. 6th St., Garland, TX 75040
    Why: The 72nd community parade features local bands, sports groups and floats winding through the streets of downtown Garland. The parade route starts at Glenbrook and 9th St., travels north on Glenbrook, east on Main, then north on 5th to the Granville Arts Center. Following the parade, gather at the Square for a classic car show. Food vendors will be on site. Add this to the fun: Kids ages 10-18 will compete in an Iron Chef-style Kids BBQ Competition (pre-registration required).
