    What: Foreigner with Cheap Trick & Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Experience

    Why: Foreigner is celebrating the 40th anniversary of their debut album with a tour featuring performances by Cheap Trick and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience.

    What: Cinewilde presents Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Amateur Drag Contest

    Why: On August 10th, 1994 “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” set forth on a heartwarming journey carrying two wayward drag-queens and one trans-woman who find more than a blooming onion in the Australian Outback. On August 18th, 2017 we will pay homage to that fabulous bus and her fierce crew! And it wouldn’t be Priscilla at The Texas Theatre without CinéWilde’s Annual “Queen of the Desert” Amateur Drag Contest! Drag queens and kings welcome! Drag of any and all kind welcome! ***Richard Curtin, the Godmother of Drag in Dallas (also known as Edna Jean Robinson in some circles) will be emceeing the contest. And we have prizes from Dallas Theater Center, Common Ground Games, and more!

    Why: Dallas’ favorite all-local farmers market – Good Local Markets and vegan pop-up V Market DFW – come together for a special market at Tyler Street in Oak Cliff. Every Good Local Markets vendor makes or grows what they sell; no distributors. GLM vendors offer produce, artisanal foods and handcrafted goods, all produced within 150 miles of Dallas.

    What: Repticon Dallas
    When: Sat. Aug. 19th – Sun. Aug. 20th @ 10:00AM – 5:00PM
    Where: Grapevine Convention Center

    Why: Repticon Dallas is a reptile and exotic animal showcase. Vendors are onsite with reptile pets, supplies, feeders, cages, and merchandise, as well as live animal seminars and frequent free raffles for coveted prizes. Repticon is exciting, educational, family-oriented fun for everyone.

    What: Riverside Shootout
    When: Sat. Aug. 19th @ 1:00PM – 5:00PM
    Where: Martin House Brewing Company
    220 S. Sylvania Ave., Suite 209, Ft. Worth, TX 76111
    Join us for the first ever Riverside Shootout tour. There will be live music, food trucks, and plenty of beer. We will host local home-brew teams who will give out free samples of their delicious and adventurous brews.

    What: 30th Annual Highland Village Balloon Festival
    When: Sat. Aug. 19th – Sun. Aug. 20th @ 5:00PM -10:00PM
    Where: Unity Park

    Why: This family fun event features hot air balloons up close and personal with tethered balloon rides every night and balloon ascension and balloon glow on Friday and Saturday. The Fair is packed with live music, vendors, food trucks, kids’ area – just pure family fun – and it’s free.

    What: Major League Lacrosse Championship
    When: Sat. Aug. 19th @ 6:00PM
    Where: Ford Center at The Star
    9 Cowboys Way, Frisco, TX 75034
    Why: Ford Center at The Star will be hosting the 2017 Major League Lacrosse Championship Game, marking the first ever MLL Championship Game in the state of Texas. Also, this year’s MLL Championship Game will mark the second MLL game of any kind in the state of Texas, along with the 2015 MLL All-Star Game at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
