    What: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast: The Musical

    Why: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the award-winning worldwide smash hit Broadway musical, is returning to Dallas as part of the Broadway Series.  Produced by NETworks Presentations, this elaborate theatrical production is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

    Why: You probably remember John Witherspoon as Ice Cube’s (Craig’s) outrageously funny, dog-catching dad in New Line Cinema’s smash urban trilogy FridayNext Friday, andFriday After Next, or as “Pops” on the long-running syndicated sitcomThe Wayans Brothers or as “Spoon” on NBC’s The Tracy Morgan Show. One thing’s for sure, once you’ve seen Witherspoon you completely understand why he has earned the reputation as one of America’s funniest dads.

    What: Iggy Pop: Live in Basel 2015

    Why: There’s a reason why many consider Iggy Pop the godfather of punk – every single punk band of the past and present has either knowingly or unknowingly borrowed a thing or two from Pop and his late ’60-early ’70 band, the Stooges, who reunited in 2003 and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. This fantastic performance features many of Iggy Pop’s top hits, including “I Wanna be Your Dog”, “The Passenger”, “Lust for Life” and many more.

    What: Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs

    Why: Alan Cumming, onstage with his longtime collaborator and Emmy Award-winning musical director Lance Horne and cellist Eleanor Norton, brings his hit new concert, Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs, to Dallas.

    What: Movies in the Park: Clueless
    When: Friday, June 24th @ 8:30PM
    Where: Shops at Park Lane

    Why: The free outdoor movie series returns to The Shops at Park Lane with blockbuster films every Friday night in June. Grab a spot on the lawn or relax and dine on one of the numerous patios overlooking the big screen. During this week’s movie Clueless.

    What: Slide the City
    When: Saturday, June 25th @ 9:00AM
    Where: 3400 Sylvan Ave
         3400 Sylvan Ave., Dallas, TX 75212
    Why: Slide the City returns for a second year with a giant water slide and block party. Three blocks of Sylvan Avenue will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind 1,000 ft. slip and slide. Kids and adults can grab an inflatable tube (bring one or purchase on site) and speed along the watery slide (don’t worry, there is plenty of padding). The block party will include food, music, vendors and street entertainers.

    What: QueerBomb Dallas 2016
    When: Saturday, June 25th @ 12:00PM
    Where: RBC
         2617 Commerce St., Dallas, TX 75226
    Why: QueerBomb Dallas, an alternative Pride group, celebrates Pride Weekend and commemorates the Stonewall riots with a day of festivities that includes speakers, music, a march through Deep Ellum and the QueerBomb Ball. Events are free through supporters’ donations at GoFundMe.

    What: Market Street Allen Celebration
    When: Saturday, June 25th @ 4:00PM – 10:30PM
    Where: Celebration Park
         701 Angel Pkwy., Allen, TX 75002
    Why: The Gin Blossoms headline the musical entertainment at the 21st annual celebration. Family friendly activities at the festival include live entertainment all day on two stages, several themed Zones and a show-stopping Fireworks Finale. Activities include a kid zone with crafts, military vehicles on display, sports zone with bounce houses and inflatable competitions, Jurassic Zone with animatronic dinos from the Dallas Zoo.     What: The World’s Largest Super Soaker Fight
    When: Saturday, June 25th @ 6:00PM
    Where: Maverick Stadium
         1307 W. Mitchell St., Arlington, TX 76013
    Why: Maverick Stadium at UT Arlington will play host to an attempt to break the Guiness World Record for largest water gun fight. The current world record stands at 3,875 people; organizers hope to get over 6,000 people to this event. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Hope for the Warriors. Hope For The Warriors® was founded by military wives in 2006 as they witnessed firsthand the effects of the war on service members and their families.

    What: Reunion Lawn Party: Hard Night’s Day/ Ray Johnston Band
    When: Saturday, June 25th @ 6:30PM-10:30PM
    Where: Reunion Tower at Hyatt Regency Dallas

    Why: Have fun at a free lawn party near the base of Reunion Tower. Bring chairs or blankets and enjoy live cover bands, bites from popular food trucks. Visit the Nodding Donkey beer garden to purchase craft beer and wine. Horseshoes and other lawn games can be checked out (at no charge) at the game tent. Don’t miss the special light show featured on the ball of Reunion Tower.

    What: Movie Night on the Bridge

    Why: When the sun goes down, Continental Avenue Bridge becomes an outdoor movie theater with the beautiful downtown Dallas skyline as a backdrop. The city’s finest food trucks will be serving up great bites, so bring your friends, family and neighbors for this fantastic free event.

    What: 6th Annual Jack FM Throwback Festival
    When: Saturday, June 25th @ 8:00PM
    Where: South Side Ballroom

    Why: North Texas’ ultimate tribute band festival is back in a big way for 2016. 100.3 Jack FM, in partnership with Live Nation, will stage the Sixth Annual Throwback Festival. The festival will feature 18 bands on three stages

    What: The Toadies Concert and Beer Release Party
    When: Sunday, June 26th @ 4:00PM
    Where: Martin House Brewing Company
         220 S. Sylvania Ave., Suite 209, Fort Worth, TX 76111
    Why: Alt-rock band the Toadies and Martin House Brewing celebrate the release of their two new craft beers – Stars Above and Hell Below – with a Toadies concert at the brewery. The party starts at 4 p.m. and the Toadies take the stage at 6 p.m.
